I’m going all four days but I’m not paying. All the panels I want to go to don’t require a pass so I can just sneak in.
What the waaaat? Which panels? I can’t seem to find schedules for anything, le sigh.
(Also, I’m offering my apartment if people want to stay there. It’s close to the busline that goes right by the hotels, yo.)

So I’m debating whether I want to go to D-Con all four days, and if so, if I want to pay for all four days (or just pay for Saturday and go to stuff on that day only). Anybody have plans for it yet?

I’m really surprised I feel this way*, but given the recent circumstances, I’m willing to make a statement about weapons. There is no reason that a civilian should have a military-grade weapon, or anything more powerful than a handgun. Ever. Military-grade guns do not provide any better defense than personal handguns or shotguns, and their only purpose is to kill as quickly and efficiently as possible. For those who say they need an AK-47 for hunting, I say that that you’re misrepresenting the sport (and are probably a vile human being because who the fuck hunts innocent animals for fun).
Furthermore, I see no reason that a single person should have more than two guns of any kind. Stockpiling weapons like that is dangerous and unhealthy behavior. If you’re worried about being attacked, two weapons and a stockpile of ammunition is good enough.
I fully support rigorous testing, including psychological examinations (even though this would disqualify me from gun ownership), and a 2-week-plus waiting time before purchasing a firearm.
*I’m normally very conservative on guns and the Second Amendment. I’ve been wanting to get a gun for some time, and my cousin owns a shooting range. I have no problem with concealed carrying on college campuses, provided that the gun owner passes the rigorous testing that I mentioned. But with the rise in gun violence lately, I think that something needs to be done.
